A little about threading and how it is performed. These images are strictly Sthree Skin Care Clients.
What is threading?
History of Threading:
Threading is an ancient manual form of temporary hair removal used for many years in Asia, middle Eastern countries and India. It is by far the least invasive method of facial hair removal and growing in popularity for its simple and efficient method of removing unwanted hair with minimal pain and skin irritation.
How is Threading done?
Threading is done by using 100% cotton thread. The thread is twined and twisted and placed on the area where the excess hair needs to be removed. The thread twists around the hair and plucks it carefully out of the follicle without disturbing the skin.
Advantages of Threading?
Threading is great for sensitive skins. Unlike waxing, threading for facial hair is painless and does not cause any trauma to the skin. It is great for people who are using Retin-A, Accutane and/or any other acne prescription. Threading for facial hair removal is highly recommended verses waxing. Other areas where threading is recommended is on eyebrows, cheeks, sideburns, upper lips, chin and neck.
Other advantages of threading is that it can be controlled to produce a beautiful shape for the eyebrows. If not performed by a experienced esthetician in a careful manner, it can cause pain and ruin the shape of your eyebrows.
Tip to maintain your eyebrows: To keep them clean and crisp have them threaded any where between two to three weeks.
Threading is also known as Khite in Arabic and Fatlah in Egypt. It is believed that Threading originated in India 6000 years ago and has spread all over Asia and to the Middle East, Europe and now to America!
